About Brenda
Brenda Bowie Wise writes Alaska based historical fiction with a twist of romance, adventure, and suspense. Until recently, responsibilities related to her career as a nurse practitioner and those of single parenting kept her from her enjoyment of writing. That is now changed.

Brenda is considered to be a strong-willed and sometimes down-right stubborn woman. Those characteristics combined with resourcefulness motivate her writing and are reflected in the stories she weaves. When people say "You can't do that." her response, said with a smile and a backward glance, has been,"Watch me." This attitude led her to work as a ski coach, raft guide and even as a clown. She also believed she could and did build her own house with a little help from her friends and family. Prior to moving to Alaska she took on marathon canoe racing, paddling up to 125 miles at a time. She completed the triple crown of marathon canoeing in North America as well as the Devises to Westminster race in the UK.
